Rumors and leaks surrounding the upcoming Xperia Z4 have been slim to none. Definitely not as prevalent as the HTC One M9 or Samsung Galaxy S6. Today is a different story. We got our hands on some alleged screenshots from a Xperia Z4 Dual SIM variant.
While the model number, build number, and kernel version are all masked, it still gives us a good sneak peak as to what Sony will do with Android 5.0 Lollipop. The device is actually running the latest version, which is 5.0.2.
The device is will undoubtedly sport Qualcomm’s most powerful chip to-date, the octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, but little else is known from the device. It is expected to have at least 3 GB of RAM with 4 GB being rumored heavily. The Z4 is also expected to be accompanied by 20 megapixel rear-facing camera, with larger options rumored as well.
What we can deduce from the screenshots is that the Xperia UI on top of Android Lollipop looks rather stock, which is good. While it maintains vanilla Android, Sony has employed their own fonts, icons, and even their own home button for the navigation bar.
Not much is known as to when we should expect to see the Xperia Z4 debut, but is will not be at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Sony will most likely plan their own event towards the end of March or beginning of April. Until then, we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
