Back on April 22nd, Google took the mobile carrier sector and shook it up a bit with their announcement of Project Fi. Project Fi, which couples Sprint and T-Mobile cell towers along with certified WiFi connections, bring a top-notch mobile experience to its users. It automatically switches between what is the best for the user.
When they first announced it, users have to sign-up through an invite only system, with the hope of test driving this new mobile carrier. Unfortunately, you may be waiting a little longer than expected to get a hold of your invite to use the ultra powerful, yet ultra cheap mobile service.
According to their latest email, they have already brought on a select number of lucky customers, but it is unknown exactly how many. They had the following to say about how long until everyone is accepted:
We’re sending invites as quickly as we can, while ensuring a high-quality experience. Given the number of requests we’ve received, we currently estimate that it will take until mid-summer to get to everyone.
So, that means an invite could possibly end up in your inbox anywhere from mid-July to mid-August. The good news is that they will soon have a way to check the status, but it is unknown when that will be released.
