iPhone 8 rumors and leaks have swirling around for quite sometime. There have even been pretty realistic dummy unit. Well, leave it to Lew from Unbox Therapy to show off the most realistic prototype yet. The prototype that Lew got his hands on has a near production finish, but it is not a functioning device.

The iPhone 8 prototype gives us a very good idea of what to expect on the upcoming Apple device. Some highlights of the prototype device include a larger power button for easier use, no headphone jack, and the vertical dual cameras. To back things up, Lew also compared a screen protector and case from two different companies, both of which line up and fit one another.

iPhone 8 compared to Galaxy S8

Above, you can see what the iPhone 8 will look like in comparison to the Galaxy S8, iPhone 7, and iPhone 7 Plus. The iPhone 8 and Galaxy S8 have very similar screen to body ratios, with the former having the screen go around the front-facing camera and speaker. Comparing the new iPhone device to the 7 and 7 Plus, it falls in between the two size-wise.

The iPhone 8 has dimensions, according to Lew’s prototype device, isĀ 5.62 x 2.79 inches and has a 5.8 inch display. Resolution of the display is unknown at this point, but it is rumored to be the first iPhone with an OLED display. Since it will be an OLED display made by Samsung, there’s a good chance that it could be QHD (1440p).

Lastly, since this device is a prototype and not functioning, we still don’t know if Apple will embed the Touch ID sensor under the display. The latest rumors, which Lew attests, claims that it will be replaced by facial recognition. This rumor is gaining a ton of steam, especially since there appears to be no Touch ID on the back of the device. The prototype also didn’t have a glass black, but the production model is expected to, which will allow the iPhone 8 to be charged wirelessly.

You can watch Lew’s entire video on the prototype below. Be sure to let us know what you think of the iPhone 8. Are you planning on buying one?
