Galaxy S7 edge spotted on AnTuTu Benchmark, confirms 5.1 inch display, 12 megapixel camera

It seems that no matter how good a phone manufacturer is at keeping their future devices under wraps, they always appear on some benchmarking website. That means the Galaxy S7 is no exception. This time, a Galaxy S7 edge variant has shown up on the popular benchmarking website confirming previously leaked specifications.

The S7 edge model that was benchmarked, is an AT&T variant with the model number SM-G935A; that means we are getting closer to the launch if carrier variants are being tested. One of the more interesting facts that come from this leak is that it seems almost assured that the Galaxy S7 models will come with a 12 megapixel camera, just like the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. More and more companies are realizing that megapixels don’t mean everything, it’s a combination of the sensor size, pixel size, and aperture size. Speaking of aperture, accompanying the slimmed down camera will be a much larger ƒ/1.7 aperture compared to the ƒ/1.9 aperture on last year Samsung models.

The device benchmarked also confirmed that one edge variant will have a screen size of 5.1 inches. Many thought that the edge would only come in a 5.5 inch size, but information found by @evleaks says otherewise. That means there will be a 5.1 inch S7, both normal and edged, along with a larger version of the two for a total of four different variants.

The leak also depicts the Snapdragon 820 running the show, but that is something we’ve come to expect in North America. Backing the 820 is 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and this model in particular has 64 GB of ROM. It would be nice for Samsung to up their base storage to 64 GB, but it is unknown if that will happen.
