Evan Blass Returns With Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 Leak Ahead of Samsung Unpacked

Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event is still a few weeks away, but one of the tech industry’s most recognizable leakers may have just spoiled one of the company’s biggest wearable announcements.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Samsung’s upcoming wearables leak. Earlier this week, leaked renders of the Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 revealed new colors, refreshed watch faces, and subtle design tweaks, suggesting Samsung is taking an iterative approach with its 2026 smartwatch lineup.

Images attributed to Evan Blass have surfaced online, giving us what appears to be an official look at the upcoming Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. The leak is particularly notable because Blass has largely stepped away from public leaking in recent months, making this one of the highest-profile Samsung leaks associated with his name in quite some time.

The images show Samsung’s next flagship smartwatch from nearly every angle and in at least two colors, including black and a new green finish. While the overall design remains very familiar, there are a handful of subtle changes that help distinguish the new model from the original Galaxy Watch Ultra.

These latest renders build on a growing number of Galaxy Watch leaks that have surfaced in recent weeks. Earlier reports revealed new colors, refreshed watch faces, and additional design tweaks across Samsung’s upcoming smartwatch lineup, while separate leaks have pointed to a significant chipset upgrade for this year’s Galaxy Watch series.

Samsung appears to be sticking with the rugged squircle-inspired design introduced on the first-generation Ultra. However, the bezel now features numbered markings rather than the simple line indicators found on the current model. The bezel itself also appears slightly thinner, though it is difficult to determine exactly how much of a reduction Samsung has achieved from the leaked images alone.

One of the more interesting details can be found on the back of the watch. The markings visible in the renders reveal several key specifications, including a 47mm case size, sapphire crystal glass, LTE and GPS connectivity, and a 10 ATM water resistance rating. Those specifications suggest Samsung is continuing to position the Ultra series as its most capable smartwatch for outdoor activities, fitness tracking, and everyday use.

The side button layout remains largely unchanged, though recent reports have suggested Samsung has made refinements to the button design and overall usability. Combined with the thinner-looking bezel, the changes point toward Samsung focusing on refinement rather than a complete redesign.

That approach makes sense. The original Galaxy Watch Ultra already established a distinct identity within Samsung’s smartwatch lineup, and these renders suggest the company is looking to improve the formula rather than reinvent it.

While most of the attention surrounding the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 has focused on its design, Samsung’s biggest smartwatch upgrade this year may actually be happening under the hood. Previous leaks have suggested the Galaxy Watch 9 will be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon Wear Elite platform, marking a move away from Samsung’s recent Exynos-based wearables. The new chipset is expected to deliver performance, efficiency, and AI-focused improvements across Samsung’s next-generation smartwatch lineup.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is expected to debut alongside the Galaxy Watch 9 series, Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and Samsung’s long-rumored smart glasses during the next Galaxy Unpacked event later this summer.
