Apple iPhone Foxconn

Foxconn has just finished creating a $2.6 billion factory solely for the purpose of supplying Apple OLED displays for their upcoming devices and wearables. Currently, they are using LCD displays on iPhone’s.

According to the source, Foxconn’s displays will enter mass-production in 2016 and be used for future iPhone’s and their Apple Watch, instead of the current LCD display.

Switching from LCD to OLED could lead to greatly improved battery life and display quality. Apple already has class-leading battery life, but could it could drastically improve with a different display as OLEDs are much more efficient than LCDs.
