A while back, it was rumored that OnePlus was to release two devices in this year. The OnePlus 2 was already debuted and released two months ago, so that leaves us waiting for the unannounced second device. That device, which many are speculating to be the OnePlus X, has leaked thanks to China’s TENAA.
The OnePlus X is a budget device at its core and is expected to target a lower price range than the OnePlus One, which is currently $300. The OP X will not be as premium or even follow the same design as the OnePlus 2 has seen in the leaked images.
The X does seem to follow some key OnePlus traits, such as capacitive buttons on the front, alert slider on the left, and power and volume buttons on the right. The device does seem to have a metal frame as the antenna bands give us a hint at that. The back of the device doesn’t seem to have the trademarked OnePlus Sandstone Black texture, but looks more reflective. It is possible that it is glass, but the picture doesn’t do justice.
As far as specs go on the OnePlus X, it is expected to sport the timeless Snapdragon 801 processor or an octa-core MediaTek MT6795, 3 GB of RAM, a 5 inch 1080p display, and a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera. Powering it all is expected to be a 2,450 mAh. The dimensions are mentioned to be 140 x 69 x 6.9 mm, so it is a pretty small package.
The OnePlus X is expected to be released globally and will be announced sometime in the coming weeks. Pricing is speculative at this point, but it could run around $200.
