News about the OnePlus 2 has been slow the past few days leading up to the July 27th virtual reality launch. We are already chalk full of information. We know it will feature the Snapdragon 810 v2.1, fingerprint sensor, a 3,300 mAh battery, USB Type-C connector, and have 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM. On top of that, YouTube sensation Marques Brownlee gave us some new information surrounding the camera.
Today’s news isn’t about the internals on the OnePlus 2, but more about the exterior of the device. OnePlus has opened up some polling on their forums to see which StyleSwap covers to make available for the OnePlus 2. They will most likely be easier to apply than before, because when OnePlus first introduced the StyleSwap covers on the original One, it was somewhat tedious to install. Swapping the covers on the One wasn’t as easy as many people would have liked, so OnePlus limited the amount of StyleSwap covers they manufactured.
This time around, they are opening up a poll and are re-introducing the covers with Ceramic, Rosewood, Mother-of-pearl, Bamboo, Quartz, Leather, Denim, Nylon, and other as the options. So far, Rosewood, Bamboo, and Leather are rounding out the top three with others close behind. It is unknown how many they will actually manufacture, but it’s good that there will be options.
I would guarantee it would be much easier to install before, so maybe with a removable back, comes a removable battery? That’s just pretty hopeful, but we’ll just have to wait and see. What would your ideal StyleSwap cover’s material be?
