OnePlus 2 will come in 3 variants, pack a 3,300 mAh battery

The OnePlus team continues to build #HYPE for their next device, the OnePlus 2, through unconventional marketing methods. Most recently, they announced individual features throughout the last month. It first started with the announcement of the Snapdragon 810 processor followed by a USB Type C connector, VR launch, fingerprint sensor, and 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM. Most recently, a few OnePlus team members took to Reddit for an AMA.

Surprisingly, they added some more unknown info about the OnePlus 2 in the AMA. First of all, they posted an image (seen above) which has a OnePlus One sitting atop the OnePlus 2. It confirms that the 2 will be smaller than its predecessor, but how much smaller is unknown at the moment.

Another interesting fact is that even though the new device will be smaller than the OnePlus One, it will pack a larger 3,300 mAh battery. Compare that to the One’s 3,100 mAh battery. It’s clear that they have designed the 2 much better than their first device, as they packed more power into the device.

The team also confirmed that there will be three variants of the 2, A2001, A2003, and A2005. The differences in the devices will be the bands that they work on. There will be a Europe/Asia variant, China variant, and of course a North American variant.

Remember, the OnePlus 2 will be debuted on July 27th, which is only 17 days away now. We’ll be sure to continue to cover the 2 as more news trickles in.
