OnePlus has employed an invite system for every device they have released. It started with the OnePlus One, continued on to the OnePlus 2, and most recently with the OnePlus X. For the OnePlus One, it took quite a while for it to go invite-free forever, although they had many invite-free periods. The good news is that now the OnePlus 2 has followed in the One’s footsteps.
Starting Friday December 5th, the “2016 Flagship Killer” will be invite-free forever. That means that you will no longer need to scour Reddit, giveaways, and bug others for invites. You will be able to buy a OnePlus 2 on the spot with no hassle whatsoever. This is a big step for the Chinese company, as they can finally keep the supply up with the demand.
