Ever year, Google releases a new version of the Android operating system. Usually, that also happens to coincide with the release of a new Nexus device. This year, Huawei and LG are rumored to be bringing a device to the table. This will be LG’s third Nexus device, and it seems as if it has leaked courtesy of MKBHD.
The leaked image shows off the back of the upcoming LG Nexus which gives us a few hints at the design. First off, this model seems as if it is a return of the soft-touch back seen on the Nexus 5. On top of that, it also flaunts the fingerprint sensor on the back, something that Android M supports natively. Next to the camera are a dual-LED flash and LG’s trademarked laser auto focus.
The image doesn’t give us any hints at button placement, whether they are on either side, but it does let us infer one thing. The device will most definitely have front-facing speakers. LG usually puts their speakers on the back of the device, or the bottom as seen on the Nexus 5. It has been long-rumored that Google won’t turn their back on the dual speaker setup, so we will likely see it on both the Huawei and LG Nexuses.
To give a refresher, the device is expected to come with a 5.2 inch FHD display that comes in at 424 ppi. It will have a 13 or 16 megapixel rear facing camera with LG’s f/1.8 aperture and a 4 megapixel front facing camera. It is expected to ship with the Snapdragon 620 which is clocked at 1.8 GHz backed by 4 GB of LPDDR3 RAM. Powering the device will be a 3,180 mAh battery, Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 and a USB Type-C connector.
