LG has officially announced their latest Android device, the LG G Flex 2. Earlier, we posted of leaked posters from CES, but now we have official press images. The LG G Flex 2 will be one of the first Android devices to hit the market that will feature the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor.

The images from the press release also come with the entire spec list and what to expect from the curved device. Among other things, the LG G Flex 2 features a 1080p curved OLED display, Snapdragon 810 processor, and comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box; all which we previously reported.

The LG G Flex 2 comes in a much slimmer and smaller frame with upgraded specs compared to its predecessor. The device features LG’s trademarked Self Healing back that resists damage from scratches a few new gestures.

G Flex 2 hands-on

Gesture Shot – takes selfies with a simple hand gesture that works from up to 1.5 meters away.

Gesture View – easily view your last camera shot.

Glance View – displays recent messages or missed calls with a downward swipe while the display is off (similar to Motorola’s Ambient Display).

Fast Charge – allows the battery to reach 50% battery within 40 minutes. This is achieved by its included 15 watt charger.

The LG G Flex 2 has definitely taken the best of the G3 and the original G Flex and combined them into a single curved powerhouse. The device is expected to see a release later this month in South Korea with a global release coming shortly thereafter.

AT&T and Sprint has also announced that they will carry the LG G Flex 2. T-Mobile and Verizon have yet to say anything, but we expect T-Mobile to make their announcement shortly. Sprint will exclusively carry the color dubbed Volcano Red. As of now, all other carriers will have Platinum Silver.

Our writer Sisan Fregene is at CES today and will be at the LG press conference, so we’ll be sure to have you covered and get you some hands on pictures.
