The Galaxy S9 and S9+ may be available in a new color variant

The Galaxy S9 is still a few months away from the light of day, but that will never stop new information from trickling in. We know some info about the upcoming devices, such as some rumored specs, but color information has alluded us until know. According to a new report fromĀ SamMobile, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ could be getting an all new purple variant.

While the official names of the colors have yet to surface, it is expected that Midnight Black, Maple Gold, and Coral Blue will return for another year. Their names may change, but nothing is official so far. The new purple variant that is expected, was rumored to launch originally with the S8, but never made it. Rumor has it that the purple color variant will mimic the look of the Deep Blue Galaxy Note8 more than the current Orchid Grey.

While a new color variant could be in the works for the Galaxy S9 duo, it may not be available for all carriers or regions. This has been very common for Samsung in the past. For example, the all new Burgundy Red Galaxy S8 is only available in South Korea and Maple Gold is only available in Australia, so don’t get your hopes up.

Would you be interested in a new purple color on the Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9+? Be sure to let us know!
