T-Mobile Android Marshmallow update plans are announced

Android Marshmallow has been official as of yesterday, October 5th. While the latest iteration of Android gets sent out to Google Nexus devices right away, it takes carriers and phone manufacturers a little longer to jump on-board. Thankfully, the Un-carrier has continued to keep us in the know about which devices will get an update and how the process is going.

T-Mobile debuted their software update page back when Android Lollipop was announced last year, so its only natural that they updated it for Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Of course, Android 6.0 is already hitting the airwaves for the Nexus 5, 7, and 9. The Nexus 6 hasn’t received the update just yet because it is going through T-Mobile testing. Most likely having to do with VoLTE. The rest of the devices are still in manufacturer testing.

The list of other devices that will receive Android Marshmallow on T-Mobile include the Samsung lineup: Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy S6/S6 edge, Galaxy Note 5, and Galaxy S6 edge+. Other than that, there’s the HTC One M8, HTC One M9, LG G3, LG G4, and LG G Stylo. This page will probably grow in the future, but this is currently who has agreed to support Android 6.0 with T-Mobile.
