Official press images of the upcoming budget device, the Samsung Galaxy J1 (SM-J100) have surfaced online courtesy of SamMobile. The Galaxy J1 follows the new naming format that Samsung is employing, just using a single letter for devices, ie. ‘A’ series, ‘E’ series, ‘J’ series, ‘S’ series, etc. The device will run off of Android 4.4 KitKat, have a 4.3 inch WVGA display, and feature Samsung’s Ultra Power Saving mode.
It seems as if Samsung is attacking the lower-end market head-on, focusing more so on quality budget devices rather than the higher-end devices. The device will come in four variants that include the following: single-SIM LTE, dual-SIM LTE, single-SIM 3G, and dual-SIM 3G. All LTE variants will feature the 2 megapixel front-facing camera whereas the 3G variants will employ a VGA front-facing camera.
SamMobile expects the Galaxy J1 to be announced this Wednesday (January 14), but it is not known for sure due to the fact the Galaxy A7, E5, and E7 have been announced recently. The specs and image gallery can be seen below.
