The latest on the Nexus 6 (Shamu) is that details on the specifications have leaked. The Nexus 6 is going to be more than just a budget device this time around.
The Nexus 5 came in $350 for mid-range specs, but was hugely successful. The Nexus isn’t going to skimp on specs this time around. It is coming packed full with hardware boasting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 CPU and 3GB. Topping the list of expected features will definitely be its new OS, Android L.
The question most people are wondering is, will it be the same price range as its predecessor? With highly improved specs and sporting a QHD display, one would assume the Nexus would take part in a price hike. However, we saw it on the OnePlus One, a great phone with great specs can come at a bargain price. With these specs we’d assume the Nexus 6 will start at $400 for the 16GB model and $450 for its 64GB counterpart. This is still extremely below average, but should cover the expenses of the new hardware.
Google has always debuted their newest build numbers with the Nexus devices, and this will be no different. The Nexus 6 will ship with Android 5.0. Look for an October debut of Shamu and maybe even a late October release.
The expected specs can be seen below.
