Press render of the LG V20 leaks ahead of tonight’s unveiling [updated with specs]

The LG V20 is set to make its debut later tonight in San Francisco and is expected to be quite the follow-up to last-year’s LG V10. Not only is it going to come with its trademark ticker screen, but is also slated to be the first phone to come with Android 7.0 Nougat. Ahead of tonight’s launch, we got our hands on an exclusive press render of the V20.

LG V20 compared to the LG V10 and LG G5

First off, the LG V20 looks more like a successor to the G5 than the V10. It looks like a more refined version of the G5 that was released earlier this year. It follows very similar design language, including the dual-camera setup on the back of the device. Just like the G5, it will have only the power button/fingerprint reader on the back, with the volume buttons on the left. On the V20 it will have two separate buttons for the volume, unlike the G5’s single volume rocker. It will also be available in three colors, Titan, Silver, and Pink.

Not much else is known about the first phone to ship with Android 7.0 Nougat. We do know that it will also be the first phone to ship with a 32-bit Quad DAC chip, which will give it superior sound quality. We do know that it will ship with the same sized screen as the V10, meaning it will be 5.7 inches using LG’s QHD LCD panel.

We will have to wait until tonight to get the rest of the details, but the LG V20 is looking to be a very good candidate for the phone of the year.
