We are 10 days removed from the official announcement of Android Oreo, and more devices continue to unofficially get Android 8.0. Just a few days ago, the Nexus 5 received its first AOSP build of Android Oreo. Today, we found out that there is already an unofficial build of LineageOS 15 for the Nexus 4.

The Nexus 4 has received its first unofficial LOS 15 build of Android 8.0 Oreo from the StephanMc on the old CyanogenMod (RIP) forums. The build which was just posted yesterday, is definitely a work in progress. It is an initial build, so it is not guaranteed to boot. That may not sound appealing, but it is a good sign that development is already underway on the Nexus 4.

The unofficial LOS 15 build can be found here, and does come with some instructions on how to install it. Just to reiterate, this is the initial build, so it is a work in progress and is no way stable. If you want to get a taste of Android 8.0 Oreo on your Nexus 4, give this a try. If the Nexus 4 is your only device, it probably is best to hold off for awhile.
