Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 Leak Points to 35% Larger Battery and 3-Day Battery Life

Samsung’s next smartwatch lineup is expected to arrive in the coming weeks, and a new report suggests the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 could bring a major improvement to battery life.

According to SamMobile, the upcoming smartwatch will feature a battery with a rated capacity of 784mAh. Samsung would likely market that as an 800mAh typical capacity, making it significantly larger than the battery found in previous Galaxy Watch Ultra models.

The increase works out to roughly 35% compared to the batteries used in the Galaxy Watch Ultra over the past two generations. While battery capacity isn’t the only factor that determines runtime, a jump of that size could make a noticeable difference for users who rely on GPS tracking, fitness features, and sleep monitoring throughout the day.

The larger battery may not be the only upgrade. Samsung is also rumored to be switching to Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon Wear Elite chip, which could deliver improved efficiency alongside better performance.

The standard Galaxy Watch 9 is reportedly getting a battery boost as well. The 40mm model is expected to use a 382mAh battery, up from 325mAh in the Galaxy Watch 8. Samsung would likely advertise that battery as having a 400mAh typical capacity.

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Watch 9, Galaxy Watch 9 Classic, and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 during its next Galaxy Unpacked event. The new devices are rumored to reach store shelves in August.

Battery life remains one of the biggest areas where smartwatch makers compete, so if these figures prove accurate, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 could end up being one of Samsung’s most notable wearable upgrades in recent years.
