OnePlus 5T is real and could be released November 20

We have refrained writing about a possible OnePlus 5T due to the lack of credibility to previous information, but that has changed. In a series of tweets from the ever-credible Evan Blass (@evleaks), he has received two credible sources claiming that the OnePlus 5T is indeed real, and coming soon.

The plausibility that OnePlus was preparing a new device was there. The original OnePlus 5 has been out of stock with no mention from OnePlus when it would come back. On top of that, OPPO, which is the parent company of OnePlus, is expected to release a bezel-less R11s.

The original R11 was the basis of the OnePlus 5, so it would make sense the OnePlus 5T would follow suit with the R11s. Both the 5 and R11 were released in June of this year. An R11s is expected to be announced very shortly. So once again, it would make sense for OnePlus to do the same. We all know OnePlus did an iterative update with the OnePlus 3, but that was because of the Snapdragon 821 versus the 820.

Aside from updating the display to a 18:9 aspect ratio and relocating the fingerprint sensor to the back of the device, the hardware is expected to be the same. The device will come with the Snapdragon 835 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. It is unknown if the battery and camera will receive spec bumps as they did with last year’s 3T, but I’m sure we’ll find out shortly.
