We knew Android 6.0.1 was coming this week, but did not necessarily know when. Just earlier today, Google officially announced that Android 6.0.1 would be rolling out to Nexus devices starting today. If you are impatient, like most of us, Google has also posted the Factory Images for the Nexus 5, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 9, and Nexus Player.

Android 6.0.1 is a very incremental update, but it brings a good amount of worthy features. Most notably will obviously be the update to the emojis found on Android devices. Android was previously using Unicode 6.0 emojis, but now will be updated to the latest Unicode 8.0. The update also comes with a new Google Keyboard to support the new emojis.

Let us know if you have updated to Android 6.0.1 and how it is going! Maybe send over a few new emojis.
