Google’s upcoming Pixel XL follow-up has leaked in an unofficial render courtesy of Android Police. While we don’t get the specifications of what’s on the inside, we get a pretty good idea of what to expect. The Pixel XL 2 looks like a more refined version of the original XL, but unlike its predecessor, it is made by LG and not HTC.

The first thing we notice on the upcoming Pixel device is that it has a minimal-bezel 6 inch QHD AMOLED display with a 2:1 ratio. Unlike last year’s model, this year will sport an LG panel. The corners are rounded, as seen on the LG G6. Above the display, is a massive speaker grill. It is expected that it will be able to output audio in tandem with the bottom firing speaker, but not confirmed.

Looking at the back of the device, you’ll find an evolution of the original design. The glass window is much smaller and it also wraps around the curve of the device. The fingerprint sensor is also below the window, so hopefully that will result in less fingerprints on the back glass. Within the window are still the camera and flash. This time around, it seems the camera is much larger than its predecessor and comes with dual-LED flash. The size of the camera is unknown at this point, but it is interesting to see Google isn’t making the transition to dual cameras.

Lastly, one of the most interesting features on Google’s upcoming flagship has to do with the sides of the device. Looking at them, not much has changed; the power and volume buttons reside on the right side with the SIM tray on the left side. There is more than meets the eye with the new Pixel’s frame though. Android Police believes that the device will feature a squeezable frame, just like the HTC U11. It would mainly be used as a way to interact with Google Assistant with this implementation.

As we stated earlier, the specs on the Pixel XL 2 are somewhat unknown at this point. We can make speculations, but we’ll hold off. As we’ve seen in the past, once Android Police gets one leak, more are usual to follow. Regardless, the newest Google device is looking very premium and will most definitely compete with the iPhone 8 and Galaxy S8.
