One thing we have learned from OnePlus is that they use their social media to their advantage very frequently. It usually comes in the form of ‘hyping’ their customers by posting teasers before a device is announced. They did it with the OnePlus 2, revealing features one at a time. Now, OnePlus seemingly confirmed that their new device in the works will indeed the called the ‘OnePlus X’.

Just two days ago, what is assumed to be the OnePlus X visited China’s TENAA for a few images, similar to the OnePlus 2 ahead of release. The OnePlus X is expected to be a more budget friendly device than the current $389 OnePlus 2, so we’ll have to wait until October 29th to find out pricing and availability information. If OnePlus truly wants to enter the budget smartphone market, they’ll have to do away with the invite system this time around because there are many options on the market now that are very easy to obtain (Moto G).

The design of the OnePlus X looks very much like the iPhone4/4s. Regardless if they copied Apple’s design, it will bode well for the Chinese company. It was a popular design a few years back that looks good and is very ergonomic. The device will most likely have dual-SIM support and will not come with a USB Type-C connector.

Not only will the OnePlus X be cheaper than its big brothers the One and the 2, it will also be smaller. The X is expected to ship with a very user friendly LCD 5 inch 1080p display. Powering the device will either be the  MediaTek MT6795 or the Snapdragon 801. My guess is on the 801 as it is efficient, yet cost-effective. It will have 3 GB of RAM and most likely 16/32GB storage options. Rounding out the specs are a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera, 8 megapixel front-facing camera, and a very average 2,450 mAh battery.
