YouTube for Android now shows vertical videos in full screen [DOWNLOAD LINK]

If there is one thing that I hate more than iPhone’s (I kid), it’s vertical videos. For whatever reason, when people take their smartphones out to catch something on video, they never turn it to landscape. Maybe it’s just more comfortable to hold that way? Well, anyways, YouTube has now made it more tolerable thanks to the latest update.

YouTube vertical full screen

YouTube vertical video normal left vs. full screen right

As of today, in YouTube version 10.28.59, you can now view horizontal videos in full screen mode. Previously, when you would enter full screen, the video would just be centered, while still being vertical. Maybe some day people will stop filming vertical videos, but this makes it less terrible.

If you would like to download the latest version of YouTube, just head over to APK Mirror and they have the download available for you. Just make sure when you go to download it, you have “allow apps from unknown sources” checked in your security tab in your settings.

What are your thoughts on vertical videos? Be sure to let us know!
