The LG G4 is finally here. With months of speculation and one of the biggest ‘accidental’ leaks in recent memory, we got our official debut from LG in New York City. The LG G4 is one of the top flagships of 2015 and it will have the option to feature a premium all leather battery cover.

The LG G4 brings many features that smartphone users of 2015 surely miss; a removable battery and the option for microSD card expansion. LG claims that they would rather make an ergonomic, user friendly device, than a device that is slim that axes function (battery size).

On top of it all, the LG G4 is backed by a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 808 processor that is clocked at 1.8 GHz, 3 GB of RAM, and is running an Adreno 418 GPU. LG didn’t specify the reasoning for using the 808 in favor of the 810, but we can all assume it is because the overheating issues. Qualcomm even stated the Adreno 418 and Snapdragon 808 are “meant for the G4.” It will be interesting to see how it holds up to daily use and performance.

It will also sport a 16 megapixel rear-facing camera with an f/1.8 aperture and an 8 megapixel camera on the front of the device. All these images will be visible on LG’s all-new Quantum QHD display which will remain at 5.5 inches.

Pricing and release dates aren’t confirmed yet, but it is expected the device will debut in late May for some carriers and early June for the rest. Once those dates are announced, we’ll be sure to have you covered.
