Galaxy S6 leak suggests it will be 6.91 mm thick [with updated specs]

One stat surrounding the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 that has been missing was the dimensions of the device. We knew that it would sport a 5.1 inch display, just like the Galaxy S5, but we didn’t know what kind of form factor we would be looking at.

The supposed leaked schematics show off a Galaxy device that comes in at 6.91 mm, just like the iPhone 6. This would be a huge slim-down compared to the 8.1 mm of the Galaxy S5. Not only that, the device will be 70.81 mm wide and 143.30 mm tall.

The side bezels will be slightly smaller than the S5, because the S6 is nearly 2 mm less wide (72.5 mm). Although it is not as wide as the Galaxy S5, the Galaxy S6 comes in a little taller; 1.3 mm to be exact. This is most likely due to the enlarged home button which has been rumored to house an updated fingerprint sensor.

SamMobile expects that the Galaxy S6 will also sport a larger battery than previously reported, which could be upwards of 3,000 mAh. That makes sense, especially if Samsung is upgrading their ‘S’ line to QHD. They also say that this is far closer to reality than other leaks have suggested.

I personally, would go with SamMobile on this one over the BGR leaks. SamMobile has the track record and while BGR does as well, they “saw” a Galaxy S6, but couldn’t post about it. Seemed too good to be true.
