Motorola is shaking up its US smartphone lineup with the upcoming release of the Motorola Edge (2026). Serving as the brand’s primary non-folding flagship competitor in the States, this year’s iteration brings a surprising shift in design philosophy, a minor price hike, and some enticing launch incentives.
Release Date and Pricing
The Motorola Edge (2026) is scheduled to officially launch in the US on June 11, 2026.
The device will retail for $599, marking a $50 price increase over last year’s model. It will debut in a single colorway called “Martini Olive.” At launch, it will be available unlocked directly from Motorola and Best Buy, with carrier availability starting at Verizon before expanding to AT&T, Cricket Wireless, Spectrum Wireless, and Xfinity Mobile.
The Big Change: A More Compact Display
The most notable adjustment this year is the form factor. Motorola is moving away from the massive displays of previous generations, shrinking the screen from the 6.7-inch panel found on the Edge (2025) down to a more pocket-friendly 6.3-inch AMOLED display.
Despite the smaller footprint, the screen doesn’t skimp on premium features:
- Resolution: 2640×1216
- Refresh Rate: 120Hz
- Peak Brightness: An impressive 5,200 nits for outdoor visibility
- Protection: Gorilla Glass 7i
Key Specifications
Underneath the glass, the Edge (6th Gen) shifts performance duties over to a MediaTek setup:
- Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 7450 chipset
- Memory & Storage: 8GB RAM paired with 128GB of internal storage
- Battery: 5,000 mAh (a slight decrease from the previous 5,200 mAh capacity)
- Charging: Up to 60W wired charging and 15W wireless charging
- Durability: Heavy-duty IP68/69 dust and water resistance
- OS: Shipped with Android 16
Upgraded Camera Array
The camera setup gets a solid layout, particularly on the front of the device:
- Main Sensor: 50MP Sony Lytia 710
- Ultrawide: 50MP shooter that pulls double-duty for macro photography
- Telephoto: 10MP sensor featuring 3x optical zoom
- Selfie Camera: A high-resolution 50MP front-facing sensor
Bundled Launch Deals & Freebies
To soften the blow of the $50 price increase, Motorola is running high-value promotions for early buyers.
Purchasing the phone directly through the official store includes a free Lenovo Idea Tab Pro (valued at $299.99) automatically added to the cart while supplies last. Additionally, the launch offers an extra $150 off via eligible device trade-ins, bringing the effective barrier to entry down significantly for upgraders.
