There has been rumblings of a Motorola phone due out this year that would include a shatterproof display. The problem with that rumor is there was nothing to back it up; it was a rumor. Now, thanks to @upleaks, we have our very first leak of what will be dubbed the Motorola Bounce including a press render and detailed specifications.
The Motorola Bounce, which will be released sometime in December of this year, looks very similar to what we’ve seen from the Moto X and Moto G 2015 models. While it does look similar to the two aforementioned devices, it will feature something not particularly seen on high-end smartphones. The device will be shatterproof. As of now, it’s not known how Motorola will achieve this, but nonetheless is very intriguing. One assumption is that it will be IPX7 certified and essentially a waterproof variant of the Moto X Pure Edition.
To top of the shatterproof feature, the device itself will be very capable as it will come with flagship type specs. It will include the Snapdragon 810 processor, 3 GB of RAM, 32/64 GB storage options, and a 5.43 inch QHD display. It will also sport Motorola’s updated cameras by having a 21 megapixel rear-facing camera accompanied by a 5 megapixel front-facing camera. Powering the shatterproof Motorola Bounce will be a massive 3,760 mAh battery.
The availability of the Motorola Bounce is unknown, but the good thing is that it will most likely not be an exclusive device to a certain carrier, like the DROID Turbo with Verizon. That doesn’t mean the phone will make it to all markets though. According to @upleaks, the device will be released in December, so keep an eye out at IFA 2015 to see if the Bounce is mentioned.
