The day is almost upon us. Tomorrow, September 29th Google will announce two new Nexus devices, the Nexus 5X from LG and Nexus 6P from Huawei. While leaks have been plentiful surrounding the devices, both in hardware and design, pricing hasn’t been as evident.
Android Police must have a very good source from within Google, because they are getting all of the Nexus related leaks this year. They have already leaked our best look devices via official press renders, so now it’s only fitting that they have obtained the pricing for both the LG made Nexus 5X and Huawei made Nexus 6P.
The LG Nexus 5X will be a sequel to the original Nexus 5, which was very popular due to its decent spec sheet and low price tag. Rumors have pointed to the 5X following in the footsteps and it seems like that will be the case. The 5X will start at $379.99 for the 16GB model according to AP. Pricing for the 32GB model wasn’t detailed, but one could assume the price would be upped by at least $50 (so maybe $429.99?). For $379.99, you’ll get quite a device with 5.2 inch IPS LCD FHD display, Snapdragon 808 processor, and 2 (or 3) GB of RAM.
As for as the Huawei Nexus 6P, it will be priced slightly higher. This is expected because this device has higher-end specs and a more premium build coming in all metal. According to Android Police’s source, the 6P will start at $499.99 for the 32GB variant. The 6P will have two more storage options of 64GB and 128GB, so most likely another $50 to $100. If that is the case, a 128GB variant of the Nexus 6P could come in at $599.99. That would be a steal, because the original Nexus 6 with 32GB of storage started at $649.99. For a sub $500 device, coming with the Snapdragon 810 processor and a 5.7 QHD AMOLED display is definitely a good deal.
Now that the pricing is out of the way, the pre-ordering information has surfaced as well. The source revealed that Google will open up pre-orders tomorrow (September 29th) after the debut of the devices. Not only that, but both devices will only be available on the Google Store, at least for now. The Nexus 5X will be available initially in United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Korea, and Japan. The Nexus 6P will be available initially in the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, and Japan.
