In Samsung’s quest for defeating Apple, they have took a page from the iPhone and have manufactured a phone with a metal chassis. Rumors of a Samsung phone with a metal chassis have been swirling ever since the Galaxy S4, but now, two years later, it is here.

The newly leaked pictures of the Galaxy Alpha can be seen above. There is a clear imitation of the iPhone chassis, but it looks smooth on the Alpha. Consumers have been clamoring for Samsung to make a phone with a ‘premium’ feel and it will be here soon.

Latest reports have the Galaxy Alpha being announced August 13th, and will be coming to GSM carriers T-Mobile and AT&T. Until that day, we won’t know for certain, but it seems that the metal body will come to fruition. It is also expected to come with a 4.8″ 720p display, heart rate monitor, and fingerprint scanner.

The latest news have the Galaxy Alpha hitting carriers on September 13th, which comes the day after the iPhone 6 is expected to be announced. That is no coincidence, Samsung is taking aim at the iPhone 6.
