T-Mobile’s @askdes shows off the Galaxy S7 by unboxing it underwater

T-Mobile Galaxy S7

The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge have been official for just over a day and we know the specs, which include an IP68 rating. To take advantage of this, none other than T-Mobile’s Des Smith decided to take a note from Sony’s book and unbox the new Galaxy S7 underwater.

One of the most well-liked features on the Galaxy S5 was the water-resistance, so it’s no surprised Samsung brought the feature back for this year’s flagships. Since S7/S7 edge are IP68 rated, they can be held up to five feet underwater for a total of 30 minutes. Another well-liked feature that made a comeback was the ability to expand storage via a microSD card.

To recap, the S7 and S7 edge will go up for pre-order tomorrow, February 23rd over at T-Mobile. You can find the pre-registration form here. To top things off, Samsung is throwing in a free Gear VR which comes with six free games as well. T-Mobile is pitching in with a free year worth of Netflix, which equates to a $250+ value. The devices will be officially unleashed to the public on March 11th, but odds are that T-Mobile will send them out ahead of time.
