Saygus v2 press image

Saygus was showing off their new device, the V2 at CES 2015 and it created quite a stir. Haven’t heard of Saygus or their new device, the V2 yet? Let me just tell you that you will hear about them for quite a bit in the coming months. The reasoning? The Saygus V2 features monster specs and comes with something not usually enabled on smartphones.

The specs of the device definitely stand out, especially for a smartphone. The Saygus V2 features 3 GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 801 processor, and 64 GB of ROM with the addition of dual microSD card slots for expandable memory. That means the phone can support a whopping 256 GB of additional memory which would bring the device up to 320 GB of total storage.

To go along with the flagship-esque specs, this device features something that has been unheard of from smartphone manufacturers. The device comes with root access out of the box. Yes, you read that correctly. A smartphone manufacturer actually enabled root out of the box, giving users maximum customization right from the get-go.

Some other features the device comes with is enhanced waterproof capabilities and a battery savings chip. The device is IPX7 rated, which they claim it is good for swimming.  The device has a 3,100 mAh battery plus the 50% battery savings chip. It supposedly makes the battery seem like its a 4,600 mAh battery.
