Full-out leaks regarding Samsung’s newest flagship, the Galaxy S6, have been rather scarce. Luckily, SamMobile has the best sources when it comes to finding out inside information regarding Samsung and what their brain-trust is planning for their next devices. According to their exclusive leak, the Galaxy S6 will have an updated touch-based fingerprint sensor and Samsung will finally do away with previous swipe-based models.

With the success the iPhone 5s had with fingerprint sensors, it was only a matter of time before Samsung jumped on-board with the trend. It is a great way to provide one-of-a-kind security for one of the devices you spend the most time with. Although the Galaxy S5 was the first Samsung device to sport the fingerprint scanner, the swipe-based style made it inconvenient and was very picky about how you swiped your finger across the sensor.

With the Galaxy Note 4, Samsung updated their fingerprint scanner to be more responsive, but the user still had to swipe across the home button. That will change with the Galaxy S6. According to SamMobile, Samsung will implement the touch-based fingerprint sensor, similar to that of the iPhone series, on their home button. To compensate for this adjustment, it is reported that the home button will be slightly larger.

The Galaxy S6 is expected to have these features tag-along with the fingerprint sensor:

It is unknown at this time if the device will have any new features surrounding the fingerprint sensor, but there is plenty of time between now and MWC in March, where the Galaxy S6 is expected to be debuted.
