Galaxy S6 Active announced by AT&T; features 3,500 mAh battery

Galaxy S6 Active

After leaks and reports spanning all the way back to January, the Galaxy S6 Active was officially announced by AT&T. Many leaks were flooding the internet from evleaks and even some product pages let loose by Samsung.

The Galaxy S6 Active, which will be exclusive to AT&T, will sport the same 5.1 inch QHD display as its non-rugged brothers, the S6/S6 edge. Not only that, but it still houses the power-packed Exynos 7420 processor backed by 3 GB of LPDDR4 RAM. It will also have a 5 megapixel wide-angle front-facing camera along with a 16 megapixel rear-facing camera with OIS.

Where the Galaxy S6 Active differs, aside from its design, is the IP68 rating and massive 3,500 mAh battery. The Galaxy S6 Active is water and dust resistant, meaning it can handle being in up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes. Not only that, but it received a huge battery bump from its siblings, who have a 2,550 mAh (S6) and 2,600 mAh (S6 edge) batteries. The battery is still not removable.

Do you see yourself picking up the latest Samsung device or do you feel it is too “ugly”. I for one wish the Active variant wasn’t AT&T specific, but you can’t win them all.
