Android M is official; brings in-depth settings, better performance

Android M device lineup

Today, at Google I/O 2015, the latest version of Android, which holds the moniker ‘M’, was announced. Android M, which will go unnamed until its official release later this year, builds off a strong showing of Android Lollipop by bringing more performance, better battery life, more user controllable settings, and Android Pay.

Android M is all about building on top of the great platform that was already set in place last year, and is according to Google, “the most powerful Android release yet.” Coming with it, are hundreds improvements which streamline performance and improve battery life.

Along with enhancing the performance aspect of Android M, Google also wants to make it easier than ever to find information in applications, which includes an updated Google Now. For example, users will be able to access Google Now where ever they are on their phone no matter what.

I will be installing Android M on my Nexus 6, so be sure to check back here later tonight or tomorrow. I’ll be giving my first impressions and definitely reviewing performance and battery life. If you have any questions or would like me to make a video, let me know.
