Xperia Z4 Elemental

The latest rumors swirling around Sony’s upcoming Xperia Z4 include a few new variants. According to Taiwanese site ePrice (rumor backed by xperiablog.net), they claim the Xperia Z4 will come in two variants.

The first variant would sport a FHD display (1080 x 1920) and would see a release in Europe and Asia. It would be similar to the current Xperia Z3 and I would expect it to be backed by only 3 GB of RAM and the Snapdragon 810 processor. The device would still see a jump in performance with Qualcomm’s latest processor.

The second variant would sport a QHD display (1440 x 2560) and see a release in the United States. Since Sony is pushing out the higher-end device to only the United States, this one would most likely see a bump in RAM to 4 GB. The Snapdragon 810 partnered with the 4 GB of RAM would help maximize efficiency when pushing the amount of pixels in the QHD display.

Both devices are now rumored to come with a 5.2 inch display, which has become standard for Sony’s Xperia devices. Another key feature Sony is rumored to add waterproof microUSB to go along with the waterproof 3.5 mm headphone jack. That would mean the device would not have those annoying flap covers anymore.

The successor to the Xperia Z3 is likely to see a debut at MWC trade show this March. Until then, we’ll continue to keep rumors about the Xperia Z4 updated.
